Verify your identity

Gidit shows real names. To use yours, verify once with a photo ID and a quick liveness check. Your ID is processed for verification and then deleted — we keep only your verified name.

Before we start

We'll ask for a government ID and a short live camera check (blink and turn your head). An automated check confirms the ID is valid, that it's really you, and that the name matches.

Why real names? Gidit's global feed uses verified identities to keep conversation accountable. Verification is optional — without it you can still read and post under a handle.

Photo ID

Upload or photograph a clear picture of your government-issued ID. Make sure the name and photo are readable.

Liveness check

Follow the prompts so we can confirm you're a real, present person.

This capture is used only to confirm liveness and match your ID photo. A robust check uses a verification provider; see FEED-ARCHITECTURE.md for wiring options.
